Taking into account, in particular, the delays in the Public Administration in processing the renewal and extension of documents relating to the stay of foreign citizens in national territory, caused, moreover, by the process of extinction of SEF, aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the inability of AIMA, I.P. services to respond, it was decided to extend, for a period of one year, the validity of documents and visas relating to stay in national territory.
As such, article 16 of Decree-Law no. 10-A/2020, of March 13, was amended for the 11th time, with paragraphs 8 and 9 of said article now reading as follows:
"8 - Documents and visas relating to stay in national territory, whose validity expires from the date of entry into force of this Decree-Law or within the immediately preceding 15 days, shall be accepted, under the same terms, until June 30, 2025.
9 - The documents referred to in the previous paragraph will continue to be accepted, under the same terms, after June 30, 2025, provided that the holder proves that they have already scheduled their renewal."
